Chevrolet Corvette from 1957, highlighted by AutoHunter

Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this frame-off restored 1957 Chevrolet Corvette. It is powered by a 1960s Corvette 283ci V8 engine backed by a three-speed manual transmission. Features include Cragar S/S wheels, custom dashboard and electric windshield wipers. Finished in red and white over a red vinyl interior, this three-owner C1 comes with a stock accessory hardtop plus a clear New Mexico title in the seller’s name.

During the frame-off restoration by Albuquerque-based New Mexico Fleet Design, the exterior was finished in red with white coves. Features include driver-side mirror, rear antenna and dual bumper-exit exhaust outlets.

A set of 15-inch chrome Cragar S/S wheels is wrapped in Michelin 205/70/R15 radial tires.

The bucket seats and door panels are upholstered in red vinyl. Features include manual steering and brakes, and Wonder Bar radio, though the seller says that it is inoperative.

The instrument panel features a custom-mounted 1963 Corvette gauge panel with 150-mph speedometer, 7,000-rpm tachometer and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, voltage and coolant temperature. The seller states that the latter gauge is the only one that functions. The odometer reads 200,000 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

Power is provided by an early 1960s 283ci Corvette V8 (casting number 3789935) and backed by a three-speed manual transmission. Features include finned cast-aluminum valve covers, aluminum intake manifold and chrome Edelbrock air cleaner.

This Corvette was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums.

A hardtop will be included as part of the sale, though it needs a windshield clamp and adjustments.
