Giants of the Dune: Monoliths of the Shifting Sands
Where dusty plains stretch barren as the sea, solitary silhouettes stand sentinel above surging tides of sand. Weathered yet steadfast, these ur-trees have endured seasons beyond memory, witness to endless change swirling at their heels.
Bleached bones thrust towering through blowing grains, limbs stripped stark yet reaching still. Cliff-like cracks betray their ageless vigil, guarding windswept secrets in wood more ancient than surrounding stones. From crowns high above the dunes’ restless roiling, panoramas vast and myriad vistas quietly unroll.
As lesser trees would fall to such an arid grave, these patriarchs stand serene despite circumstance, dwelling where none but the hardiest could make a stand. Monoliths emerge from within the shifting shroud – monarchs that have seen empires flow and fall, unchanging sentinels to the sands’ ebb and flow throughout the desert’s rise and erosion into coming rains unknown.
